I am trying to figure out how much my average spending will be a month on bills. A 2 bedroomed flat, just for me and my baby - what do you think the average water, gas and electricity bill would be a month for that? (and any other bills i've forgotten)

tv licence 11 a month
water depends 50? a month
electric 35?
gas 35?
phone? 15?

erm, cant think of anything at nearly 3am lol

When it was just me and OH in a 2 bed terrace a few years ago we used to pay out-
45 Water
35 gas
65 elec
Council Tax 112
Tv licence 11
Sky and Broadband 35

And then there were the car insurance on top and obviously food :) XxX

Well i've budgeted £150 for gas, electric, water and tv licence - so you think that will cover it?

Couldnt say it all depends on how much you use like the heating/washing machine/tumble/ if your water is metered or a set amount. Were metered so we pay for what we use.
Right now were in a 3 bed house, with dining room, kitchen, living room and 2 bathrooms. And we only have the heating on from 5am till 8am (3hrs) and then again at 5pm-8pm (3hrs) to warm the place for jacob when he wakes and goes to bed and heat the water for his bath. I have a shower in the morning, so does OH and jacob has a bath every night, the washing machine is on 2-3 x a day. And were pretty good with turning things off when were finished using them and are bills NOW are:
Around 85 a month for water
75 Elec
55 Gas
11 tv

So total is 226. But bare in mind we both work. So were in the house prob 3-4days out of 7. BUT there are 2 adults and 1 child.

So i cant answer it onlt give an example of what we pay. XxxX

I live in a 2-bed house by myself at the moment, and this is what I pay out on 'homely' bills a month (theres debts, mobile, loan bills aswell)
Water - £24
Talk talk (phone+broadband) - £17
Electricity - £50ish (depends on heating+tumble dryer)
TV Licence - £11

= £102

Obviously it will go up a little bit more once baby is here, and being winter with the heating on.

I live in a small 2 bed terrace so will be equivalent to a 2bed flat. Just me & josh (4yrs) this is our costing per month:

£25-£30 p/m leccy
£15 p/m gas, but during winter about £40 p/m
£30 p/m water
£22 p/m tv licence

My gas & leccy are on meters so i pay wkly to top them up. I don't have a tumble dryer but have radiators which i only tend to use when its quite cold or if i have a mad day washing/drying shed loads of clothing.
I don't have a landline, but have internet & virgin xl tv they are £36 a month but i only pay £10 as my mum pays the £26 for me.

Does that help a little xx

brilliant Moo, think you're the closest to what i have so far so it gives me a good idea - cheers! :)

No worries hun, Obviously during winter the gas would prob go up, & during summer come down but i tend to top up much as i can in summer then come winter i'm ahead of myself & don't need to worry about paying extra gas if you get me. My leccy & gas are with scottish power & are the cheapest i've ever been with , Npower & E-on are the most expensive imo & most annoying to contact. Our situs are very similar hun so i would imagine the bills be quite similar unless you go ott with central heating lol

Thing is i also have a 4ft fish tank running 24/7 using 6/7 plugs & that is included in my leccy price, The price didn't seem to alter when i added the tank lol

Oh that sounds good.

And i hate being hot, lol, so not a big fan of going ott with the heating luckily.
I'm just going to be super concious of how much water i use and switching off plugs for leccy etc and see what happens! Lol.

Yep i do that switch of any plugs not being used, unplug things not being used etc. Sure you will be fine hun don't worry x

we have energy savers all over our 2 bed apartment.

£22 Water
£30 electric
£5 gas (never ever used heating as its too hot in the apartment!)

so my utilities are teeny weeney, then add council tax, tv lisc, home insurance, line rental for phone and internet, rent, food, etc etc, I always put away for xmas and birthdays and holiday etc so it doesnt seem like a big struggle when they come around every year! xx

Be sure to check your local water companies as we have to pay 2 - one for water and one for waste and these total about £45!! :)

There are 2 of us in a small 2 bed bungalow and we pay a DD of £50 for electric, £36 for gas, £100 for council tax, £12 (i think) for TV license :)
