Hello,

Just wondered, for any of you who have bought a birthing ball. Where do you buy them from? Are they different from exercise balls? How much do they cost(ish)?

Thanks

xxx

i dont think that they are different to exercise balls, simply different names, the cheapest one ive found so far would either be argos (as toria said)or tescos excise ball

Was just looking at this as it might help my back problems and help with coping with labor as I don't wanna be rushing to hospital and would rather stay at home for aslong as possible :)

I'm having fun on mine already. Managed to make her drop using it.

already! hehe
I may have to go get one then, LO is still quite high :(

lol, im planning on getting one simply because they look fun and might help in labour

i paid £7 in argos.

not sure what you are supposed to do on them when you go into labour, apart from bounce up and down!

i just bought one for £12.99 in argos, i wanted the bigger one because i'm quite tall and the extra few cms will be good.

Having a bad day though coz i bumped my car

awww you ok? is baby ok? was it a bad bump??

i want to get an exercise ball, but aint sure what to do on it lol

Yeah we're fine, wasnt a bad bump just need the rear passenger side door fixing. It's started me off for the day now though... can't stop bubbling like a baby. Can't wait till my OH comes home so i can get some hugs.

Thanks for asking :hugs:

awww bless ya!!! hope you feel better about things soon!!! xxxxx

Awww! glad you are ok!! Isnt it strange how shock when you are pregs makes you so upset?

My mum's dog jumped on my tummy the otherday and he is huge! I screamed and pushed him off and he just snarled and went for me. I cried for ages cradeling my bump:(

I hope it doesnt cost too much to fix the car!

Some idiot hit a deer on a country road last night and left it there - I came along and hit it again at 80mph! I was so shocked. Something went pop and crunch under my tyre :( You have reminded me that i couldnt see anything in the dark last night and need to go check out the damage - mess.

Eek Sorry to hear you had a bump in the car today, hope you're both well though xXx

I am gonna go buy one today...too late perhaps?

Don't think it's too late ! People use it while they're in labor as well.

I asked my doctor yesterday if she think they're worth it, she says it definately helps to put baby in a favorable position !

I got one off of Amazon, but know that there cheaper at Argos (darn...)

I went to a physiotherapy class today for my bad back pain and the physio said they were great to get the baby engaged, help with back pain and exercise the core stomach muscles that we need to exercise if we ever want to get into a bikini again.

Just sitting on it will do good, like if you're watching tv, rather than sitting on the couch, or I use it as a chair while I eat dinner. Exercises to do are simple. Just rock your pelvis back and forth on it and side to side. That's it!

By the way, I'm 5'9 and the physio said a 65 cm ball was a good size for me. I think if your around 5'5 or 5'6 and under you would want a 55 cm ball.

Have fun bouncing!

An idea that might not have occured to people is use it instead of a desk chair at your desk when on the computer. Your will be using your core muscles instead of slouching. I like trying to cross my legs on it and balance.
