ladies any advice would be great, been for second membrane sweep today and told my bishops score was 8. iv had a few mild period like pains??? any advice xx(im 38 weeks today) xx
Sounds great. The bishop score is an assessment of the cervix and used in calculating how favourable your cervix is. Commonly used in the induction process. By using a score of 0 - 3 for each assessment made of your cervix and added up. Dilitation, length, consistency, position of cervix and how engaged i.e. -1, -2, -3 etc, your score would indicate how favourable your cervix is.
Bishop score of 8 is usually a favourable cervix for induction should you go down that route and women are usually able to have an ARM (waters broken), therefore skipping the pessaries stage of the induction. Positive signs.
