I know I never posted much in this forum, but I always liked to give support whenever I could, and also got plenty of advice off you good people
Anyway Lewis was born 6 days late on 30th June at 11.22am weighing 7lb 13oz.
My contractions started at 4am pretty mild, thought they were gas pains and would go away soon just like my braxton hicks did. I got 3 lasting up to 40 seconds, so decided to time them. 7 minutes apart and they started getting more intense. I rang the MLU and told to go in to get checked out. At the MLU I was only 3cm dilated but in so much pain they didn't bother sending me home again. Luckily they didn't as my contractions came fast and very painful at 3 mins apart - Surviving on only gas and air I also vomited TMI. Soon enough there just wasn't much of a break between them and had the urge to just push. was told I wasn't allowed any pain relief, as it was too late! I ended up in the birthing pool, which helped a lot with the pain. After 10 minutes my waters broke in the pool and was told it contained meconium - Was told to get out of the water. That was then I thought things just wasn't going to plan and had a feeling what was going to happen. After more pushing I was told not to push anymore, just breathe through the contractions while they got me an ambulance to the main hospital. It was soo painful and very hard to breathe and not push. At the hospital I got more checks and told that labour wasn't progressing well and I'd have to be rushed into theatre for either forceps or emergency c section. On top of it all I had a very arrogant nurse reading a contract out yelling at me telling me I need to read and sign a form for the risks of anything going wrong during the procedure which could put me or the baby in danger or even dying. My partner was absolutely mortified that she could even ask me to do that when I was in so much pain. I was rushed down to theatre and scanned to find the reason why I wasn't progressing was because the baby had turned his head sunny way up on the way out. Forceps didn't work so ended up with emergency c section under GA. I later found when I came around that my placenta had ruptured and I lost 2 litres of blood, so a blood transfusion was needed
Anyway after all that, I'm proud to announce the arrival of Lewis who is now almost 2 weeks old and feeding like a champ. He has also now put on 5oz in weight
