Bit of a dumb question about post surgery bleeding

In a scheduled section, where you have not dilated and lost your mucous plug...what happens to it? Does it sorta stay in there and block bleeding after surgery? Do they scoop it out?

I had an emergency section with my son and was already in labour and had lost my plug.

I cant answer this sorry but you have got me thinking as like you I had lost my plug and been through labour before my emc... mmm will be watching this thead!

I would assume that it would just come out on its own lol I was in labor last time with my emcs but I'm sure you still get the contractions from your uterus shrinking down so wouldn't that kind of push it away in a sense lol
