We're in a position where in all liklihood my DH is going to lose his job next month. I'm not working as I'm looking after Aisling and for various reasons, my DH can't look after her so I can go back to work.

I've just been on entitledto.com who seem to think we'd be entitled to £45k a year in benefits, mainly in JSA for my DH. This can't possible be right can it? That's more income than we have at the moment

JSA is only £60ish a week per person, so I don't think the bulk of the 45k could be made up with that?

I am a little confused too tbh. You should get income support etc, and housing benefit but that will come in the form of your rent payments (if you have a mortgage you can't get so much - we looked into it). I have looked before on that website, as I was worried that my OH may lose his job in this climate and I wasn't working at the time as I had just graduated. We own our home, and we would have been entitled to about 16k in total, made up of the various benefits available to us, and tax credits.

did you possibly do what I did and put the earnings in the pensions box? That gave me a faaar too generous amount!

If you could get £45K in benefits no one would go to work!! sorry hun, sounds too good to be true!!!
