Hi all,

First thread I've posted on here. I am TTC#1 and am on cycle #2. I thought I would start charting my BBT and using OPK's this cycle to become more familiar with my body and my cycles for the TTC road ahead of us. I started using Backmore's Conceive Well Gold and was curious if anyone has also taken them and noticed the benefits or changes in their cycles? I found I have been having bouts of nausea on them for around half an hour after I take them even when they have been taken after a meal. I think after being on them for 2 weeks now my body has finally started getting use to them as nausea seems to have stopped.
I was wondering if they can affect your OPK results too? I wouldn't think they would as they don't contain LH which is what is detected. However with these vitamins under speculation for possibly altering your cycle I thought they might have some sort of an effect on your hormone levels and be able to affect OPK's that way.

Sticky baby dust to all :dust:

I started taking these my first cycle, so I don't know if there's any noticeable difference when you use them compared to when you don't, but I wouldn't think they should affect your OPKs in any big way. They are mostly to make sure you get all the nutrients your body needs. The thing that might influence hormones is the B6 in them, but the main benefit of this is lengthening the luteal phase if its a little short. This works by helping normalise your hormones if they aren't quite right, but it's very subtle and it just helps your body do what it's supposed to be doing. You should see the LH surge fine, I have when I've done them right and I actually take extra B complex to help with my luteal phase length as well.

I also got a little nauseous when taking them the first couple of days but you do get used to it, especially if you eat first.

Thanks for your input Palladium. Still light OPK's today. Had a definite negative on CD12 and have light OPK's from CD13 up until now CD19. Tender BB's today and some light AF type cramps for around half an hour so am curious if this is AF approaching early or pre or post OV signs. I am typically a 28-31 day cycle so if it was AF she is very early  I am so interested to have it all charted to make sense of it all hopefully by the end of my cycle

The last cycle I used OPKs I found I had faint lines for about a week before ovulation, so there can be a detectable level for a while before the surge. I just found OPKs to really hard to do reliably, I hate having to avoid drinking and hold for so long in order to get a concentrated enough sample. I switched to using a saliva microscope this month to see how that worked. It's not as easy to interpret and I'm not absolutely sure which day i ovulated this month, so I might try both the microscope and OPKs next month to see how they line up.

It does seem to take a few cycles to get a sense of your normal pattern. I don't get sore bbs until a day or two after I ovulate, but everyone's different. Good luck to you!

So today is what I assume to be 14dpo in relation to my more frequent cycle and the presence of EWCM and this morning I tested and got a :BFP: ! Hubby is away with mates and this is our first so I am going crazy at home waiting and it's only 7am! This is our 2nd month ttc and this is the first time I used Blackmore's Conceive Well Gold (I haven't even used the whole 28 tablets yet either). The only other thing I did different was chart bbts, kept an eye out for cm changes (didn't even check) and used opks which I never got a full positive on anyway. So none of those things really helped with this conception. I really think the BCWG are the only big change I had... They must help somehow  Hope this is a sticky bean. :dust: to you all :hugs:

Congratulations! I hope it goes well!

I got what might have been a very faint positive test the day before AF showed up last cycle, although it might have been an evap, but I'm taking it as a good sign. My temps and hormones seem to be much better now than when I started ttc and now we're only into our 5th month, so I'm feeling hopeful.

Thanks. So excited, no-one else knows yet so you could be the first confirmed person that knows hehehe and I am counting every minute till DH gets home. I used a FRER with FMU and the 2nd line showed up almost immediately. Not as dark as the control line but definitely there and definitely pink! I didn't think I would see anything... I suppose I was just bracing myself for another :bfn: I guess I shouldn't be too excited until I see a DR for confirmation. I definately think temping and charting info helps so you better understand your cycle and have more luck in timing BD and checking LP lenght etc. Even though I have only done it this cycle so I will have no clear info, I think it is invaluable for the future! Good Luck!!!

Congratulations Mrs Jellybean! I'm on CD3 of my 3rd cycle ttc. Hoping this will be the month for us. I have been taking blackmores conceive well gold since before we started trying hopefully it helps... I charted my bbt last month and this month I'm also going to use opk's.

How are you going to tell your hubby? I don't think I could hold it I would probably have called him straight away but I'm sure it would be more special telling him in person... :)

Thanks! Yeah I couldn't wait, I was texting him all day asking how far he was away. When he got home I was shaking so much with excitment and nerves. I hugged him and said "WE missed you" and he was like "Huh? We?" and I said "Yeah, WE" and then pulled out the clearly positive test. He stared at it for a bit then looked at me and was like "Really??!!" Then just started hugging me really tight and kissing me. It was really cute. Then he said it made sense why I had been contacting him all day trying to find out how long till I saw him hahaha

Oh that's so nice! You've inspired me to make sure I tell DH in person when I eventually get my BFP.
Congrats again! :)
