Hya,

Good news that they don't seem concerned which i'm sure is right. It could be a subchorionic hematoma. No expert, but worth asking next time. You could also ask them for the measurement of the blood.

Glad that you aren't still bleeding though x

the measurements are in my note 9.1cmx2.6cmx7.2cm which i thought was quite big to be honest

That sounds like what I was told yesterday at my 28-week growth scan.

They originally had me in for the 28-week scan to check growth, as I have migraines and that can apparently sometimes affect growth. The good news is, she looks exactly on target for growth (49th percentile, nearly 3 lbs.). But they were concerned about an area on my placenta that looked different. She said it's likely old blood and nothing to worry about (so not placenta detaching or anything--I confirmed that!), but they want to check the growth again in a month. Apparently, that section of the placenta may not be functioning correctly, so it could possibly restrict growth.

So while she was very reassuring and told me it's nothing to worry about (extra check is just to be on the safe side), I'm still a bit worried!

I just had a scan at 18 weeks and there was a bleed detected as well. I don't know how big it is. I know I've had it the entire pregnancy though. Baby is a fighter! I am just feeling low because I was told my last ultrasound came back clear and this one referred to the last ultrasound showing the bleed as well. It's roughly the same size so I guess that's good.
