My bleeding isn't particularly bad I don't think, I'm not soaking a pad through or anything but that might be because I sit down all day. The feeling of the blood coming out of me is making me just want to sit down all day. I really only get up if I have to and dh is doing everything. I went to the shop today and half way round I felt the blood pouring out of me and I just hate it so much, it's put me off going out again. Is it normal to feel this way? Do I just need to get on with it and try to ignore it? Maybe sitting down is making it worse? I just want to get out and about like normal.

Hi choc,

When you sit or lay down for a long period the blood pools in your uterus/vagina which is what causes the gushing. The more you walk, the better it'll be! Having said that, I'm sure your dr told you keep an eye for heavy or bright red bleeding that soaks a pad in under an hour and/or clots larger than 2 cm or so.

Try walking around your house whenever possible if you don't feel up to going out yet. Don't force the outside world on yourself if you're not ready - there is still a lot of hormone stuff happening for the next few weeks so be easy on yourself. Hope this helps and lots of love and hugs!

Thanks for the advice, it does help. I will try to move around more and get used to the feeling. I'm annoying myself because if anything should be holding me back it's the stitches but they aren't that much of a bother to be honest! I'll make more effort to move around more tomorrow and see if it helps. Thanks again xx

I get what you mean about the feeling of blood gushing out, I hate it aswel and I'm always paranoid about it. That's one of the main reason I use tampons for my monthlys because I hate that feeling, so having to ware pads now I hate.

Sitting down for long periods deffo makes it worse as the blood settles and gathers so id suggest trying to get up and move little and often, even if it's just to the kitchen to get a drink ect. This should stop the blood gathering and then gushing.

If your not ready to go out yet then don't feel pressured that you should. I've only just got out of hospital yesterday but today I had to go to a feeding clinic but I felt so paranoid the whole time because I'm still waddling so much as I'm in pain and felt asif everyone was starring at me.

You can do it :) moving will also help get rid of retained fluid in all your tissues so if you have residual swelling in your feet or legs, that'll resolve faster with walking.

Keep up the hard work - you'll get there!!

Thanks girls, I will definitely take on your advice xx
