Hello ladies

I hope you dont think I am imposing but I didnt know where to post this one.

I have had bloods taken this week to try and find out why I keep m/c.

They took about 10 vials of blood - the doctor said they would test for diabetes, thyroid, clotting, etc.

Has anyone had these tests before? They were not taken at any particular day of the month.

I get the results hopefully next Tuesday.

Would like to hear of anyone elses experiences please.

Thanks, Rumps xx

Hey chick

Sorry didn't want to read and run - i've only had the usual tests but i really hope you get some good answers x x

I had bloods done for prolacting, thyroid, and ones to see if i was ovulating?not sure if they were the same as what you had chick, sorry
xx

Ive had a basic range done, FSH, Prolactin, Thryoid, CD21, Progesterone, anemia, Keritin (sp?)? and that about all I think?

On the 1st and 3rd lot they only took 1 large vial ... but on the 2nd set (which for me was around CD3) they took about 4 vials (I know cos it hurt every time she changed them over!!)
I get the results on the 1st (monday)

Fingers tightly crossed you get answers honey :hugs:

I had a bunch done (a bunch of vials) about two years ago because the doctor got a little 'oh, her insurance will pay for this!' happy while I was still in the States. They'll be thorough. When you go in to talk about the results, bring a list of any questions you have and don't be afraid to ask for clarification if you don't understand something.

Things like thyroid, diabetes, etc can be tested any time of the month. Coincidentally, I had mine done at the same time as my cd21 progesterone, but that isn't necessary.

I was relieved to find that my thyroid was underactive (maybe sounds stupid...but at least I now know what caused my mc, and am in the process of having my thyroxine levels stabilsed. This takes a while, but hopefully is the only obstacle preventing me from getting preg!).

Did you see the lady on telly last week who had just had baby #2 after 18 mc's (8 yrs ttc)? Apparently her levels of folic acid and Vit B12 were really low, even though she was taking all the recommended supplements. The doc prescribed her some heavy duty pills and she's became preg straight away and carried full term.

Good luck  :hugs:

Thanks for your message sweety. Your story gives me some hope and like you, I am hoping that the blood tests come back with an answer - I dont fancy any invasive testing at the mo!

I wish you luck with stablising your thyroxine levels.

I read about this lady but did not realise there was a TV programme, will have to google.

Hope for us all xxxx

It wasn't a documentary or anything. She was just on gmtv being interviewed (wed or thurs, can't remember). :hugs:

i had bloods done for all major problems, blood problems, genetics, all but they took 3 months to come back so i doubt u had them.
