BLW - does your baby tend to use a certain hand or both?

Since about 3 months, my daughter has definitely tended to do more things with her left hand than right. She tends to reach for toys with that hand, touch more things, etc. Our family has always joked that she's going to be left-handed (which we think is great because it's different!). Now that she's eating solids (doing BLW), 90% of the time, she feeds herself with her left hand as well. She will push things into her left hand with the right and sometimes she does feed herself with her right hand if something she wants is on that side, but mainly she uses that arm to prop herself up or steady herself if she is reaching for something.

Just wondering if anyone else's baby has a definite preference for one hand? Do you think it means anything? Or she just hasn't gotten the hang of the other hand yet?

Interesting post and I"ll be keeping an eye on other replies.

My daughter is 6 months next week. She seems to mainly use her left hand. Left hand for grabbing the spoon (although yesterday used her right hand for the first time). She uses her left hand for lots of things like reaching for toys and holding food so we were also thinking she might be left handed.

In the last two weeks she has started banging on things a lot (mainly tables and my hand as she seems to like the noise!) and she does that with her right hand.

I'm not sure if it means anything this early on.

My LO uses both hands with food but mostly the left for toys. she's nearly 8 months :)

My LO used to favor her left hand, but now seems to use both equally. I don't encourage one over the other, but I think it's important for her to be coordinated with both. I wonder if you can "train" a child to be ambidextrous?
