BLW - Meats?

So I started BLW 3 weeks ago and it's going great but I'm having trouble getting her to eat meats. I eat chicken (skinless, baked) every day for dinner and always give her a few chunks, she sucks on them a little and bangs it around and examines it, but doesn't actually eat any. A couple times a month I'll have beef and I've tried giving her that twice now (ground beef) but she didn't eat any of that either. I gave her some cod and she didn't eat that either. I did find one meat she ate though, canned tuna! OH thought I was nuts when I laid a whole tuna sandwich on her tray, and watched in amazement as she shoveled fistfuls of tuna mixed with spicy mayo into her mouth. :haha: I'm thinking maybe she just like the spice.

She doesn't have any trouble with vegetables though she loves them and eats most of what I put on her tray (apart from the meat). So I'm thinking maybe she just doesn't like meat..what should I do? Do you think she just can't chew it so doesn't eat it?

Mine's not super into meat. I think some of it doesn't mash/gum...whatever well enough for her to eat it easily. I have found that mine is also fond of canned fish . I give sardines and canned salmon. She'll sometimes eat them alone, but likes them mashed into cream cheese and spread on toast. Mine likes chicken sausages and ground meats mixed into stuff (I've recently done a ground beef, rice, grated carrot and egg thing that I melted cheese over so it sticks together a bit, and that's a huge, if messy, hit). I have found that boiled chicken goes over better than baked. Probably as baked can dry out more. Maybe try mashing the baked chicken up with something, or shredding it finely and see if that helps?

It took quite a while for Tabitha to actually eat any meat, I think it's quite difficult for them to actually gum it properly. Keep offering regularly though, she can still enjoy the different flavours and suck some of the goodness out, and eventually she'll get better at actually eating it.

Hannah outright refused to eat most meat until her first year molars cut :)

Gabriel had no teeth until nearly a year, but loves meat. Chicken, pulled pork or beef. He gums it just fine. I had a hard time getting him to eat anything else. He ate meat at 6 months. I think it's just a personal preference of the baby and they'll eat more variety as they get older. Just keep offering it and see what happens. (Gabriel still won't eat any fruit though :haha:)
