Hi all! We have been blw since 5.5 months and wouldn't do it any other way as it works so well for us! When we started, LO loved veggies and would eat broccoli, steamed red pepper, and squash over fruit or anything. Now he hardly touches vegetables and spits them out immediately. Anyone else? What do you do? I have to sneak them by him, he won't even eat sweet potato. He eats toast, many fruits, oatmeal, meat and more meat. I'll smear tomato sauce on his chicken, or smear veggies on his toast (he'll eat anything on toast), sneak veggies in his potato pancakes and sometimes let him eat those pouches that have veggies mixed with fruit. He's only recently gotten bad about it, maybe just a phase.

How do you blw do with veggies?

We are new to blw from spoon refusal and he's taken to it well. We have similar problems though; I made macaroni cheese with lots of veggies in, he picked around the veggies.

At the minute, I'm usin leftover veg purée as a pasta sauce, putting extra hidden veg when I make bolagnase (to also hide from my oh!) and in meatballs, and I've found the smaller the pieces the more likely he is to it it, he either likes to shove into his mouth whole or practice his pincer grip!

I'll be stalking this too. My son hates veggies. The other day he was digging in to chickpeas and I snuck a few pieces of broccoli on his tray. He put one in his mouth without even realizing. But a second later the mouth opened, tongue stuck out and broccoli fell out. He then looked at his tray and picked up each remaining piece of broccoli and threw it on the floor. Sigh.

Carrots are his least favorite. As soon as he gets one, he cries, sticks out his tongue and tries to wipe it off- it's pretty funny actually! Then he looks at me like, ah! you tricked me again! And then he refuses to touch anything that remotely looks like a vegetable the rest of the day, lol! So sometimes I have to avoid carrots just in hopes he might be inclined to eat something vegetable-like.

He will occasionally eat a green bean, and he does LOVE corn on the cob.

Yesterday, I made some veggie pattie/pancakes...I used baked sweet potato, beans, and a veggie medley hoping to sneak in more. I thought maybe since it would be a little hidden and cooked together with a little vegetable oil, he might like it more? He did sorta eat some, but eventually realized what he was eating, lol!

I think I may do some of the meatball idea!

Well, minor success tonight- I gave him Lima Beans at lunch lightly seasoned- and he didn't eat them. Then I put some pesto on them for my dinner and offered him some- he actually ate them! Maybe I just need to find the right seasonings for him...

My son ate PEAS last night! With no seasonings! I've found that he's more trusting of foods when I offer them to him with my own hand, putting them into his mouth. Once he tries a food that way and discovers he likes it, he will eat it off his tray. I got him to eat chickpeas like this too.
