Bobbing on boob

Hello all

My 12 day old LO has taken to bobbing up and down on my boob before latching. Plus fussing, opening her mouth really wide and kind of tonging my nipple. Since birth, she was doing it once in a while then would settle in. I would laugh at it even though the latch wasn't super good to start that feeding session. She has been a good latcher from the start, weight is good, lots of dirty diapers and wet ones. So she's getting the right amt of food but sometimes she does this too long and gets upset and starts crying. I usually end up switching sides while she cries until she finally settles. I can't figure out what's going on...I am exclusively bf. she's doing this more and more now.....help!

Sometimes lo can mess around with the boob because it stimulates more milk production. My lo used to pull on my nipple and kinda nussel it and I never knew what she was doing until I read it on here! She'd eventually settle on it after messing around for a while - do you think she could be doing this (I'm thinking because she's still young so trying to stimulate your milk more)

Evie used to do this too and it was funny at first then got quite annoying! I just let her get on with it and it didn't last long

If she's crying while doing this it could be reflux.

Honestly there's a lot of reasons babies do this. When my daughter was doing I read up on a whole list of possibilities...

Mine does this with a cheeky smile...then just dives straight on and starts guzzling!

It might be part of establishing the supply/flow. She does it for a while and most the time she latches on eventually but sometimes she gets so upset she fusses and cries herself into a frenzy..... I'm wondering if I should try to pump a little to get my supply going...
