How long does it take you all to feed your LO's?! I think LeeAnne may be eating WAY to fast! It takes her about 15 minutes to eat 3oz..and then gets hiccups bad! I'm not sure how to make her feed slower so she isn't as gasy!
Any suggestions?

that sounds about right, well until recently when she started fighting us over it but that's much later on  I'd say 15-20 minutes in the beginning

Oh okay great!! I just wasnt sure as some of my breastfeeding friends say they are on the boob for like 40 minutes every feeding!

bottles are much quicker :) sounds like you are doing everything right :hugs:

Yeah, bottle feeding is much faster! It takes Colton probably 20-25 minutes to drink 8oz.

Sounds like she is doing fine. Being hiccupy and gassy is very common with newborns... Whether they are bf or ff. Bottles are definately quicker then BFing though... You can still get lots of skin to skin by cuddling and bathing with her too.

Lay her across your lap belly down and rub her back, that will help with gas... And raising the head of whatever she is sleeping on will help too with the gas and hiccups.

I only used gripe water and it worked great ffor us. I tried ovol (infacol) drops and they constipated her soooo bad.

I found that feeding my LO up right causes less hiccups, Larissa takes about 20-25 mins to have around 5oz. Most days I will sit on bed with her, a pillow between my legs and a v pillow on top of that, prop her in the middle so we can see each other and feed her that way. She well I think she likes watching me when she feeds and we def get less hiccups, its only if I lie her down more or less straight away the hiccups come. Propping her up seems to really help.

Did she hiccup in the womb a lot? My Caitlin did and first few months she forever hiccuped :dohh: lol

Timing seems right :D x

Hunter would normally take around 15 minutes to drink his bottle. He would get hiccups afterwords for the first few months.

That sounds about right! Jacob used to hiccup all the time at that age so im sure she is fine! x

She used to hiccup all the time when she was in me! I remember asking my doctor if hiccups counted as movements as thats all I ever felt lol

my little one gets the hiccups loads!! i just give her more bottle and they go!

also with the burping my health visitor told me hold her upright with your hand under her chin and hook your little finger under her arm that way you hold her diaphram up and the wind comes out easier and its worked wonders for us!

Ella also drinks her bottle really quickly...
