My little one is suffering from trapped wind, we have tried infacol but now I am thinking of changing his bottles we currently use tommee tippee closer to nature size one teats he will start feeding then five mins later he starts to squirm an is really difficult to feed some feeds he is ok with but more often or not it takes nearly an hour for him to take a 4oz feed any advice on what I could do?

TT were horendous for wind with Hollie. We changed to DR browns and noticed an immediate difference! I'd buy a couple and give it a go.

I've noticed this with the same bottles and have considered changing brand. Possibly to Avent anti colic ones. Ive found that the teats tend to get blocked as well, which is infuriating during a feed at 4am! xx

I've used tommee tippee since LO was 4 weeks old and I find them great:thumbup: but you do have to rinse the teat in soapy water and push your finger into the teat to rinse the hole or else it may block when feeding

I gave my LO dentinox when windy, and you can put it in their bottle of milk or syringe feed them a little and LO got his wind up great

My baby is 8weeks and has been totally the same, we use denitiox in the bottle( infacol didnt do much 4 him) and we changed from size 1 teats to variflow teats and have noticed an amazing difference, we just have to sit him up after a feed and the wind comes straight away, hope this helps.xx

Ive just stopped BF and found the TT an easy transition she took to the teat immediately, although I do notice when she is drinking the teat does go in sometimes which is weird!

TT was recommended by a lady from a breastfeeding association this is why I got them, although you could try Avent I used this with my other two girls, I found them to be good

I use Dr. brown's which work great, i recommend the regular size instead of the wide neck ones though. the nipples on the wide neck ones are more difficult for my LO to drink from since he can only fit the very end in his mouth, whereas the standard size ones seem more natural to me.

I don't recommend Avent for wind at all. I have just switched from Avent to NUK due to my LO being really hard to burp with Avent and the teat is too hard

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I went out yesterday and bought some avent bottles to try. May also get some dentinox (sp?) as she growls like a bear most of the night due to trapped wind x

I have bought some variflow teats an he took 3oz in 5 mins an burped straight away he as had another oz an burped quick followed by a little sick normally fur him to take 4 oz it takes alot longer Is it ok for his stomach to take it that quick?

He as just bought up most of the extra oz he had maybe it was a bit to much

Re: teat going in

Check the vent hole in the teat is open as it can cling shut or may be sold closed. Also ensure the vent hole is at the top when baby is drinking and not on their chin which will make the teat go inwards:thumbup:
