Do I need all of those things? DH and I want to buy this: https://www.target.com/p/fisher-price-deluxe-take-along-swing-seat-saturn-snuggle/-/A-16343645?registryId=Cu-9DC-nIrjWRHDsBH433g&regTitle=Nancy%20%26%20Michael%27s&regType=BABY&regMode=REGST&itemLineNum=22&reqQty=1&regPurQty=0&regPage=RMI&preSelFlag=1&cr=true

It swings both on battery and manually, it can be stationary, and it vibrates. But it does not bounce or rock. What is the importance of bouncing and rocking, and do I need to have another contraption that does so? Or can we get along with just that?

Its just preference. Mine hardly went In theirs. That one looks fine 😀

We have a bouncer and swing which were life savers. Honestly I would get a plug in swing because you will go through so many batteries. Our son didn't sit in the bouncer for the first 3 to 4 months because he was too small for it. I would sit and bounce that thing for hours. That's how he would fall asleep most of the time too.

It just depends on you and your needs...for us we have a swing bouncer and rocker but we have several floors and so part of it is for convenience sake, we have the fisher price rock and play because when my second daughter was born she choked one night on her own spit up(she had bad gerd) so we wanted to get something that had an incline to keep next to us, but it's also super nice because of how light and compact it is, our swing is a really neat one we bought from a friend and we can take the seat out and literally put the car seat right into which is something I always said with my 1st would be nice to have something like that haha well now they do ;) and then the bouncer is merely for convenience of having somewhere to set baby down if we're all hanging out in the basement but I will say I got all of my stuff second hand and would be very unlikely to pay full price for any of it ;)

We had a bouncer for dd. Lots of people recommend a swing though. I don't think you need both but personally I think I'd go for a swing over a bouncer if you can afford it just for convenience. I'm hoping to get a swing this time.

The swing was a life saver for me with my son, im definitely getting another one of those...but like the other poster said, definitely get one with the plug too cuz we had the battery powered one only and we went through so many batteries. I had the bouncer too and we used it for a while, it was nice because when my son would get tired of one we could switch to the other.. I buy second hand as well because they can get very expensive.. and I tend to try to get one of everything to see what baby likes best.

We are buying a mamaroo expensive i know buy ive tried almost every bouncer out and dd2 hated all of them and she loved being in my cousins babys swing so i will deffo be purchasing one plus it stops MIL feeling the need to constantly nurse the baby

We got a swing already (mamaroo) and will get a bouncer as well - mostly b/c our house has 3 floors and I don't feel like lugging things from one to another.

Baby preference too! My ds hated his bouncer, liked his swing and when he was old enough lived for time in the jumperoo!

Ohh yes...the jumperoo.. and the doorway jumpers, my son would fall asleep in his heh.. but of course that's further down the road.

For DS we only had a bouncy chair. Bought it for $5 second hand. I didnt really bounce him in it all that much, but it was just a convenient place to put baby down. We didn't have much room or money so we never got a swing. But this time I think we will, if I can find a good deal on one. But I will definitely have a bouncy chair too, cause they are so cheap and convenient. And like someone else said, we may be getting one for each floor.
