Okay, TMI...
I've had a managed emergency c-section on Monday (got an enema beforehand). It's Friday morning now and there is no sign of any bowel movement apart from a bit of gas... I've been eating well and have no tummy pain whatsoever.
Any advice on when I will be back to 'normal' in this matter? Thanks! :flower:

I went a week and a half after. My OB says that can happen, especially with the pain meds.

Okay, so I might be in for a bit of a wait then. Thanks for your reply!

Me to, my c section happened on Monday and like u stil no movement . I have plenty of gas though lol x

congrats Sapphire can you email me a pic of your little one, i just sent you a PM!! i was waiting until day 4 for my first bowel movement. hope your feeling ok, i was in so much pain after the C-section, it surprised me.

It took me close to a week. I had to take stool softeners to finally be able to go.

I was given prune or fig syrup. Worked a treat!

It was 6 days for me. They gave me stool softeners at the hospital and then I bought more at the drug store on the way home. Eat lots of fruit and fiber and that will help. My nurse also told me that when I finally did need to go to lean back against the back of the toilet and that angle helps you to go without pushing. She was right:thumbup:

**Newsflash** I managed to go yesterday (day 5)! Woot!!

TMI Warning: It was really soft and no problem at all.

My doctor had given me laxatives while I was in hospital, didn't take them though. I guess it just takes a while for our bodies to return to normal.

Kookie- Hope things get moving for you soon!

Ying- Thanks, Hun! Will send you a pic once I get to it.

Awesome, congrats! lol!

my first pee after the catheter was removed was the horrendous one... ouch

I went to the birth centre after leaving the hospital less tah 48 hours post EMCS (I couldnt stand the place) and hadnt been soasked for something and was given some lactulose to help things along.

It wasnt nearly as terrible as you think it will be.

BUT the longer you leave it the worse it may be, so get some stool softeners and eat plenty of fruit.

I still haven't been able to go yet I had my CS on Tuesday sighsss.... x

Awesome, congrats! lol!

I understand that! Also, it took me over a week after it was out to get my urge to pee back when I needed to go. I hope to never have another.

My god, you all took ages to go! lol I went that night about 6 hours after my c section. I was petrified. I wobbled to the toilet still with my catheter in and perched on the loo gripping on to the seat terrified to push in-case my scar popped! Thankfully everything went okay, nobody gave me any stool softeners i did it all on my own lol!
