BP sky high after birth....

had my harvey sat 1st dec and my bp dropped dramatically .... i was induced for high BP. all thru preg my bp was fine til i reached 35 weeks.

Now 6 days later its still 160/100 im on bp meds but not doing much....

anyone else had this after birth?? im scared.

I had it with my daughter. They gave me the emergency pill in the office and started me on labetalol. It went down fine with that. I had to stop it 7 weeks into my next pregnancy.

Yes, PE often gets worse before it gets better and day 5 is usually peak time for me post pregnancy. Every time my bp drops wonderfully for the 24-48 hrs post birth (probably due to the loss of blood volume and pressure volume from baby) then it shoots up and they restart all of my meds. This time I will not be letting them muck it around until it's time to wean. Most of the time it comes down post partum but some people are stuck with a residual hypertension. I hope yours comes down soon

thanks... Yes my Bp dropped to 79/45 after birth!!!! then reached a steady reading then sjy high again! im also on labetalol its say 7 and still very high..... :s
