so i had an appointment on thursday the 21st and the doctor asked me if i was having any abdominal pain and at the time i wasnt, but for the past couple of days ive been having bad pain in my stomach all around. ive also been having some bad pain down their  that felt like contractions today so i got really nervous they hurt really bad so i thought i was going into early labor and im only 24+1.

So today i called my doctor and she said that it was nothing to worry the pain in my stomach was circular ligament pain its just my body making more room for the baby and that completely reassured me. She said the other symptom i was describing was braxton hicks and when they come just to sit down and relax with 2 cups of water and i should be fine!!! i felt so dumb ive been reading about braxton hicks for weeks and when they came i was not expecting them at all and was so unprepared.:dohh: im so happy it wasnt anything serious! :happydance:

A pain down there is likely baby kicking your cervix lol, that's crazy, I didn't get BH until 30 weeks! They're horrible, keep a bottle of water with you when you go out, it's great to have when they kick in!

I know they hurt so bad ! thanks so much for the advice though my doctor said the same thing:)

This might be a dumb question. But how do you know when they are bh, and when they are the real thing?

braxton hicks will fade away by walking around, taking a shower or usually drinking water and if its real labor contractions they'll intensify and the time apart will become shorter. its definately not a stupid question:)

Oh, thanks! That makes sense. :)

I had round ligament pain starting at 16w and it was awful! I haven't had it since then, and I'm definitely not looking forward to BH. Ah!

Lol yeah their quite painful! Well not everyone gets braxton hicks so just hope you don't get them lol.

You'll know! BH are like a painless (or sometimes slightly painful/uncomfortable) tightening, contractions are like period pains x10000000 :haha: I always got my BH at the top of my bump as well, but you definitely know the difference :)

It gets worse lol me and OH were out a walk and I was about 31 weeks, I thought I was going into labour but I was just being cervix head-butted lol, it's scary and confusing when you've never been through it before! :hugs:
