Every night for the past few weeks I've been getting regular braxton hicks at night, I do get them in the day but its mainly at night. I know its not due to dehydration, I drink lodes lol.
Anyone else mainly get them at a certain time of the day :)

Mine come more at night as well. I still get a lot during the day but the ones at night are kind of painful with back pain and period type cramps. During the day they are just the tightening of the belly.

My antenatal lady told me today that braxton hick contractions happen more at night in late pregnancy as that is when the baby likes to reposition themselves the most. Breech babies and back to back babies turning etc...

ah so not just me then lol!
i always thought it was baby pushing out until i noticed all of my bump went hard.
glad its not just me, getting comfy at nights a pain though :/

Same here, Rachel. Like you, I get a few during the day but they're more frequent at night. I also notice that I get fewer in the evening if I'm not tired, for instance on the weekends when I don't have to work.

Are you ladies getting quite a few at night? Mine happen mostly at night, like you. It's how many I get that concerns me. I've always heard more than 4 in an hour is not good but mine seems like it's constantly hard in the evening. I'm only 34 weeks and it scares me!
Also, just today I have been getting a dull ache or like a sort of cramp really low in my stomach on both sides. It's very low, like groin area. Does anyone else get that or know what it is? I have a dr. appointment in two days.

Yep I get more than 4 a hour at night. But there not at regular intervals they just come and go. When I asked my midwife she just said its because its my second pregnancy I'll get more and as long as they don't start to hurt I'm fine :)

This is my 3rd baby although my 2 boys are 13 & 11 my midwife said my bh's are stronger because ive been pregnant before! However last week they were coming every 3-4 minutes so i was admitted to hospital, thankfully it wasnt early labour and I have been diagnosed with a "irritable uterus" , basically i just have to get on with it :-( but if they get too uncomfortable to the point i need more than a paracetamol then I have to go back!! I do feel reassured that its just bh's though :happydance: I do find they are worse if I need a wee, perhaps thats why you get more a night maybe ? ........... but always call your midwife if your worried!! My midwife is already sick of me ha ha xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've not had any until the last week or so, and now I get the odd few they only happen in the middle of the night (conveniently waking me up)!

Aww bless you :) yeah I've been told if paracetamol didn't help then I'd need to go to the hospital. They don't hurt though just annoying when my belly gets really tight :/ its more a comfort thing than a pain thing. Ah well not long to go :) xx
