Has anyone had this ?? I'm now officially past due and after DTD last night I had some bloody show and started immediately having contractions that were bearable but certainly uncomfortable every 2-3 minutes for at least three hours. Now they're a bit further apart , and I didn't call the doctor because the pain was not intensifying - it was staying the same. Is it still Braxton hicks even if they are that close together (2-3 min apart?) they only lasted about 10 seconds each though.

Could very well be false labor if your contractions are not getting worse with movement or readjusting. It's always a good idea to call because you may not realize that you are dilated. Sometimes women go into labor before their bloody show or waters even goes.

Defo worth calling your doc about x

Thanks, yeah I called and am waiting to hear back. I guess if the pain isn't intensifying , than its not real labor. I still have some brown blood when I go to the bathroom- just a tiny bit but enough to notice. It seems like something is happening for sure bc I'm still having contractions but much less frequent now - more like every 10 min. It was just alarming having the painful BH every 2-3 min

I've been in the same boat. For the last 24 hrs I've had long (60-90 sec) painful contractions but only 1-2 an hour, so not real labour. Now I am having very frequent painful contractions (every 2-3 min) but they only last for about 10-15 sec. Again, not real labour. I had some more bloody discharge when I went to the bathroom this morning, so I know things are going in the right direction, I just wish this "going into labour" business was more straight forward.

Ah it's nice to hear someone else is having the same symptoms , I was starting to worry! I'm sorry though bc it sucks! Is this your first too?

Yes this is my first. I'm not even afraid of the pain, I am looking forward to it so I know what is happening instead of being stuck in this limbo! I keep having more brownish discharge whenever I go to the bathroom so that's a good sign. I just want the baby to come today so I don't have to tolerate the contractions for another night - it's been two nights of crappy sleep due to very painful contractions every half hour. I know I'll have crappy sleep when the baby is here, but at least it won't be accompanied by the pain!

Well my baby arrived today, 36 hr labour was not exactly how I envisaged things going, especially after enduring 48 hrs of false labour. I didn't progress beyond 7 cm after 24 hrs of active labour so I ended up with a pitocin drip and an epidural. The pitocin worked to dilate my cervix, and after an hour and a half on the drip I pushed my baby girl out in an hour. Terribly complicated second degree tears, it took them 1.5 hrs to stitch me up, but we are both doing well. I'm just glad it's over!

sorry about your labour and birth jess but congratulations yayyy send some labour dust our way glad you abd baby are well xxx
