So ladies, I'm a long way off joining you here but I just wanted to ask you...

Is anyone who had big boobs pre-pregnancy finding breast feeding tricky?

I hope to breastfeed and pre -pregnancy I was a 38G, I'm now 26 weeks and am currently a 40H. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but a few friends who have babies have said sometimes the extra breast tissue can really get in the way and make feeding tricky...

Anyone else found this????

im not as big as u i am currently a 36 dd/e and havent found brestfeeding with big boobs an issue i fact coz they 'hang' lower i don tget as much arm ache x

I'm a 42j, and breastfeedings fine it's just that i keep hold of my breast to stop his nose being covered, and to keep him latched on.

big boobies here too... I always just keep the tissue in the 'sandwich' hold and it helps baby latch on better.

36G/H here...:dohh:

Pre-pregnancy I was a 32F, now I'm a 34G/H and I do find that I have to "manouvre" my boobs into the right position for Poppy to get latched on properly. I do find myself hoisting them around quite a lot to get them where I want them. This is going to sound a bit weird, but sometimes when I need to lift them up slightly, I pinch the tissue and lift them into position! They do seem to have a life of their own at the moment.

Oh and sometimes, I have to change positions slightly in order to allow her to breathe as the flesh seems to envelope her!

Mine are 42G and I just couldnt do it I felt like I was sufforcating my baby so i got an electric pump and expressed until he was 6 months old

Thanks everyone for the replies. I guess when it comes to it I will just have to find my own method. I have got an electric pump too so there's always a plan B! xxxx

I was a 36DD and now a 38DD I think its quite easy with bigger boobs, I was managing 8oz when expressing so seemed to fill more at first, now I think they have dried out :(

Wouldn't it be good to buy a bra with super underwire and support and take the boob out and sort of prop it up on top so you don't have to be hoisting?
