Hi ladies, I wonder if anyone could help or tell me if they r experiencing the same problem.

I noticed last night as I was changing for bed and took my bra off, that the underneath of my breasts were quite red and warm. Not painful just unusually flushed in colour.

Anyway had app with mw today so asked her about it. She was quite surprised by how red the underneath was and suggested I keep an eye on it and get to dr if it got redder or painful. She also suggsted my underwire bra could b an issue so I got properly measured and fitted for a couple of bras with no underwire.

I'm still red underneath the nipple on lower section of both my breasts. MW didnt think it could b an infection as usually this would only occur after birth when breast feeding.

Anyone else experiencing this? Xx

Im 26 weeks pregnant and a few month ago i had the exact same thing happen, mine were so red and warm like your describing and then got really sore/painfull so i went to the drs and he said i had mastitis (breast infection) It does usually occur when breast feeding so was little shocked i was prescribed anti-biotics and everything was fine after soo it is actually possible b4 birth/breast feeding. so i would visit your dr.

Yay! My first TMI post.

Something weird has happened to me. After taking a shower the day before yesterday (I think it was), my husband and I were feeling in the mood and spent some time in the bedroom. During that time, I commented that my boobs were itchy and scratched them a lot (like... all over them). It was weird because my boobs have never been itchy before. After we were done, I finally took the time to look and noticed redness underneath them (like at the crease area and a little below). I asked my hubby to look because we were lying in bed and I couldn't see under them (I'm like a size C), and he saw what looked like dryness/a rash along with the red. This was really weird because I've had this bra for like... 6 months at least, and never ever had issues with it like this (nor any other bra). Hubby asked me if maybe it needed to be washed (I don't wash them as much as other clothes because they're so expensive and get ruined) or the fabric over the underwire was wearing down and I was having an allergic reaction. I kind of shrugged it off and switched to a sports bra with no underwire. Currently, the marks are still there, but not as intense. Is this anything like what you guys have experienced? Sounds like your redness is actually ON your breast, and not at the edge of it. And I feel no pain... just itchiness.

My redness is on my breast, in the lower section under nipple. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it worsens. So it is possible it could b an infection?! Good to know. Thanks ladies... Will make a dr's appointment :) xxx

Not had it myself but I also heard you can get mastitis in pregnancy. I had mastitis after my son was born but luckily I caught it very quickly...sit in the bath with hot flannels on your boobs, and get to see a doctor ASAP! Hope it clears soon.

I went to get remeasured the other day and the lady suggested from 16-18 weeks going to non wired bras as the wiring can affect the bump?x

I've heard differently; I've heard you should wear wired all the way through because it gives you the proper support for your breasts. As long as you're wearing the correct size then all of your breast tissue will be within the wires and therefore not cutting off any circulation or any ducts.

I have to have mine fitted professionally, because regular shops don't stock my size (GG cup), and the only place that does is a professional fitter. I went in to be fitted for a nursing bra a few weeks ago, because my regular bras are really uncomfortable for me now (even though in my first pregnancy they were fine all the way through). They told me they preferred me to wear wired for the reasons I wrote above, but I insisted; for me because I@m a SAHM if I'm sitting down I'm sitting on the sofa, and it's not supportive for my back, so I slump, meaning the wires jab my ribs etc. So I insisted on non wired because of that. TBH you have to go with what you're comfortable in. I wore wired all the way through my last pregnancy and I didn't have any problems at all; and neither did my baby.

Sorry; I've gone off track of your original post. I haven't experienced that; I would keep an eye on it though; if you see it's becoming bigger, or hotter to the touch, or tender, then get it checked. It could be mastitis, which you can get during pregnancy as well as after the birth. Have you googled the symptoms of it? It might be worth familiarising yourself with them in case yo notice any of them on yourself.
