Anyone had a miscarriage whilst BFing and can tell me what to expect re supply?

I've had a scan today and baby has no h/b and is measuring quite a bit behind so I'm at home waiting to miscarry (well technically waiting to go back for a re-scan but its unlikely to be positive seeing as how I'm certain on dates).

If it doesn't pass by itself is medical management suitable when BFing?

I don't have any answers for this, but wanted to express my sympathies for your loss. <3

No advice I'm afraid hun but huge hugs.

I was in the same position a year ago and now have DD. It does get better. Xx

I am so sorry for your loss. I miscarried somewhere around 10-12w gestation very early postpartum. My supply suffered a bit during the week of the actual physical expellation, but no more so than what I would expect from the return of AF (I assume based on what I read from others, I haven't actually had a period since) and nothing that nursing on demand didn't fix. I don't know about medical management; my mc occurred before a scan showed loss of h/b. :hugs:

I don't know about supply Hun but wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss.

Also I had medical management with my first loss and I lost a tremendous amount of blood and was quite ill and anaemic, not sure what that would do to your supply should that happen to you, it's unlikely but wanted to let you know my experience. My blood loss was minimal after my surgery for the second loss

Xx

That doesn't sound nice. I got the impression I'll be offered medical management first. I had an ERCP after my son was born for a bit of left over placenta so a surgical management wouldn't really worry me.

I hate the waiting, though I think having 2 little children running around, especially when one is still nursing and likes to play little baby and have boobie snuggles makes it a a lot easier to cope with emotionally.

I'm sure your Los will help take the edge off :hugs:

I don't like to scare people but if you get the choice I would take the surgical option, I had to have two lots of the medical management drug and it didn't work, it took 6 weeks and I ended up hemorrhaging and having emergency surgery and a blood transfusion so the whole experience has scared me for life and I would tell anyone not to do.

But there are a lot of people who have it who are completely fine
