I have an infection in my tooth and am getting a root canal done on Thursday. I am currently taking Tramadol as I am in agony. Since it's too dangerous to breastfeed, I am supplementing with formula
I am pumping and dumping so I don't dry up and hubby is even offering to suckle on my ta-ta's to keep my milk flow up. My question is, after the surgery, can I take percocet and resume breastfeeding? I miss it sooooooo much and the formula has him constipated like crazy. A friend of mine told me that percocet is okay during breastfeeding.

 @ hubby's offer!

I'm not sure what percocet is the brand name for but I had very severe neck pain with a trapped nerve and I saw a Dr who said I could stack paracetamol (tylenol) and ibuprofen safely as the amount passed is so small. Dunno if that helps...

paracetamol and ibuprophen is good. I had bad tooth/face pain for a week that started as a clicky jaw joint a few months back before escolating into agony...Thought it might have been an abcess but it seems to have cleared on its own. (Maybe i just wore my jaw out talking too much)

I assume you're on a course of antibiotics and thats your main concern? I know there are safe bf'ing ones but i'm not sure they are strong enough to deal with nasty tooth probs. Some definately pass quite a large amount into your boobie supply thats for sure..
