How much extra weight do you gain from breastfeeding ?

Im just wondering as I am about 9lbs heavier than pre-pregnancy and wondered how much of that is down to the fact my boobs are like mountains when they were fried eggs before !

Im a bridesmaid in 4 weeks and the dress doesn't fit properly round the hips and waist yet its perfect round my chest (which is good as don't need to buy chicken fillets now :) So I was wondering how much extra weight on average goes on your boobs ?

Think im going to have to start taking lucas for a walk everyday now otherwise I will never be comfy in that dress.

I wondered this too. Joshua is 16 days old now and BF going very well,my stomach has shrank down much quicker than when I had the other boys which I put down to BF .
In pregnancy isn't it 2lbs weight in breasts? So I would think that its a good bit more because of milk supply after?

Tried googling but no luck.

i was back (surprisingly) in my pre preg jeans from about 6 weeks after. I haven't lost all my preggo weight tho just my shape has changed. It will take a while for your breasts to calm down, realistacally, imo, you're looking about 8-12 weeks in.

Next to putting your boobs on the kitchen scales tho i'm not quite sure how you would figure out the extra weight being carried

Someone on here got their hubby to hold up their breasts while they stood on the scales.

I did that too! And they weighed about 8lbs too!

I'm almost down to my pre-pregnancy weight even with the HUGE boobs (GG) and into my old trousers.

ok i have to try this now.....  the oh is gonna think i gone :wacko:v

I thought that BFing generally helped weight come off quite quickly?
I know that I am still 15 lbs heavier than pre-preg weight, but I think that the stuff I read mentioned that you lose lots of weight quite quickly due to higher metabolism from lactation, but that your body uses those fat stores built up during pregnancy rather slowly - it's still your emergency supply of energy for lactation. Lots of women don't lose the last 10-15 until they have finished BFing. In my case, I gained a whopping 50 lbs and lost most of it within 6 weeks.
I have a few friends who said that the last bit didn't shift until they were done BFing. I suspect the same might be true for me. It's that or hit the gym! :)
