Breastfeeding pain

Has anyone ever experienced intense pain in breast/nipple followed by milk leakage? I'm assuming this isn't normal but I'm not sure what is causing it? Any ideas?

Painful letdown can be a sign of thrush (sp?)

When my milk let down it was a very uncomfortable sensation - like pins and needles but very intense. Have you had your baby yet? It is also possible to experience let down before your baby arrives.
