The way you feed your newborn is your own choice
But I have some breastfeeding info so please hear my voice
Just like other things it has its ups and downs
But recent research shows it'll bring few frowns
Milk from the breast has proteins that are easily digestible
For the first six months baby won't need formula, water or a vegetable
As you can tell it's convenient and cheap
It also lets you bond with baby and brings your self-esteem up a leap
Do it for three months and baby's risk of being sick will be lower
Give it a shot--you may avoid a chronic nose blower
What about babies with asthma, constipation and ears full of goo?
Yeah, drinking milk from Mom may prevent them too!
If you think baby gets all and it's a one-way street
I beg to differ as it gets Mom back on her feet
It decreases blood loss after delivery via increased uterine contraction
And may lower Mom's risk of breast and ovarian cancer by more than a fraction
So you like what you hear and want to know how to start
No problem at all-just put your baby's mouth to the part
Make sure there is more in the latch than just the nipple
Because if this is so baby won't grow and your worries will triple
Feed your baby eight to twelve times a day
You'll know when to do so-when they're hungry by the way!
Twenty minutes per breast every two to three hours
Should keep diapers full of solids and showers
So visit your physician at day three, four or five
And lactation consultant to help baby thrive
Remember to consult your doctor if you have these:
HIV, active TB or sores from herpes.

Remember, not all babies poop 3/4 times a day.
