Has anyone actually used breast milk for eye infections, ear infections, acne or anything else? Very curious as my son has pink eye (lovely thing with being in public schools) and I was reading and breast milk was brought up to help cure infections. Is it true?

I haven't tried it, but I have heard the same thing. Give it a go, it won't hurt!

My son had an eye infection at 3 days old. His eye was all gunky and often stuck shut. Midwife advised me to either put a drop in a few times a day or wipe with a clean piece of cotton dipped in some expressed milk. 3 days later his eye was clear with no need for medicine xxx

Yeah, it works for eyes and baby acne, too. I've used it quite a few times to clear up eye infections. Only once have I needed to go to the doc to and get eye drops - but that was after a few days of trying milk and no improvement. Usually is starts looking better after 24 hours or so.

Thanks girls. I've tried it and it seems to be better already...amazing!!!

Definitely works for pink eye. Ive tried it for other things with no effect but was amazed at how quickly it cleared up the eyes!

ITS GONE!! Eye isn't red or yucky!! That's amazing.

Yep, cleared up a plugged duct within a day or two. Also I would put in on dd's dry skin on her face, worked like a charm. I started using it for everything :haha: including one time my dh developed a fever of 104 and was in the er and tested positive for flu, me and dd was fine (she was just 3 months old) I made him chug 5 oz of expressed fresh breastmilk and I'm not even kidding you he was completely normal the next day. Didn't take anything else for it at all and refused all meds at the ER. It's a miracle drug.. (btw dh would shoot me if he knew I told anyone he drank my milk  and it took an awful lot of convincing for him to finally agree, but he said if anything happened next time he wouldn't think twice before chugging some again!)
