Bright red blood after sex

Hi girls

So I've been married almost 5 years and obviously hubby is the only person I have sex with and this has never happened before but last night after we dtd I went to the loo as you do and there was loads of bright red blood. This has never ever happened before and I'm booking a doctors appointment the moment it opens. Has anyone ever had this before?
I've also been spotting all throughout this month... Very strange.

I've only had this happen close to my period- as red blood indicates new blood. But if you are no where near your period time, then it can't hurt to get checked. If only for reassurance. If you've been spotting- then the sex could of stirred things up and caused the extra blood (for lack of a better analogy).

I get this, since September (my cycles are longer too). I was told it could be pronounced blood vessels on my cervix that causes it. Waiting for colposcopy for a better look.

Thanks for the replies

She said at the appointment that my cervix looks very inflamed but she thinks it could be cervical ectropion or cerviscitis but I've been referred to the gyno at the hospital and already have the appointment within 2 weeks... Making me a little worried!

Also just dtd tonight and same again pure bright red blood!! xxx
