So after 15 days i've found where to post this in detail!
Went in for induction 4th march after an attempted sweep 3rd. 12pm i had first gel petocin. Contractions started 40 mins afterwards coming every 2-3 mins. Was checked 6 hours later and was only 1-2cms but cervix was tucked right behind babys head and i couldnt bear the sweep and them pulling the cervix forward as his head was so low. They didnt give me another petocin pessary as my contractions were too intense. Anyway they died down 4am tuesday. Come wednesday they fitted a pessary. Checked me 6hrs later with gas and air thank god and said cervix was still the same but my waters were bulging... but cervix still abit thick. Had another pessary then no pains nothing! Come thursday at 10am they checked me again with gas and air. Cervix was a good 2-3cm and completely thinned out but still stuck behind his head. She gave me a good sweep and rang to delivery suite to break my waters. Waited till 2:30 in the afternoon to get a bed but boy when i got round there i was scared!!
3:15pm i was a good 3cm and my waters were broken. This was the most bizzare but good feeling! They gave me an hour before they started the drip to see if my own contractions would do anything. They were pretty sharp pains but unfortunally never done nothing so i was put on the drip. I was terrified of what was to come! Managed to get to 4cms on just gas and air but wanted the epidural while the aneathetis was free. Had that fitted at 10pm and wow that was heaven! Never felt a thing havinh it fitted. Could still move my legs but never felt one contraction. Come midnight/1am i started throwing my guts up. Ended up just bile. Midwife said it could be cervixal change and another said she thought i could be fully dilated. 4am i was checked as i started to feel contractions through my epidural even with a top up and fully dilated! 5:20 i started to push but was only allowed to push 40mins due to previous stroke, baby wasnt coming on his own so needed suction. 6:33am brodie flex was born but had pooed inside so had quick skin to skin daddy didnt get to cut the cord and he was checked over as he was quiet. Was fine in the end just very chilled baby. I needed stitching due to suction but was fine. Brodie weighed 7lb 3 and 3/4 and was 21.5inches long with lots of dark hair.
Hes now 15 days old and weighes 1/2ounce off 8lb 5 days ago. I'm so in love with him hes perfect! Recovery for me was a nightmare and really sore but he was so worth it!!
