I know it's way too early but I love, love, love thinking up baby names...We've pretty much settled on boy name but can't come up with a girl name..
Then Bryony came to mind. What do you all think? Is it too old or too far out there? She could be called Bree, or Brinnie, both nn-s are cute IMO..DH loves Brianna and this is close enough to that, too, yet not as popular or overused.

So what do you think? I can take honesty so no worries if you don't like it, just let me know :) Also, any suggestions for middle name?

Thanks a bunch!!

I like the name but only cos thats what we call our baby if its a girl. I am pregnant with baby no.2 and we had that name for baby 1 but it was a boy :-) got a feeling this one is a boy too. The middle name we chose to go with it Zoe.
I am seeing the name Bryony crop up more so I think it maybe getting popular?? thats the reason why we chose that name its not heard of much.

I like Bryony , and much prefer it to Brianna. I think maybe a really feminine name would sound good with it, such as:

Bryony Rose
Bryony Grace
Bryony Mae

I like it with either "rose" or "grace" as middle names x

I like it. Spelling it Briony is another option. I like that the meaning is "to sprout" too :)

I dont like bryony - I think its because I once worked with a little girl called bryony and she was very very naughty and very rude. x

I much prefer Brianna... or even just "Bria" as a full name...

Honestly, i am not quite sure how to pronounce Bryony... i have never heard it/seen it before...

It's pronounced Brionee..
DH however doesn't like it so back to the drawing board..:/ Luckily we have plenty of time till february :)

Like "Bree own knee"?

Ok -- i was thinking "bree a-knee" or "br-eye a-knee"

Thanks

bryony (bree-on-nee) is a beautiful name for a girl.
the spelling kind of threw me off though. at first i thought it was a boy's name. i was thinking of bryan, or bryony

I love it, in fact it's one of our chosen names if we're having a girl; Bryony Marie :)

I like it- we have it on our list too with Rose as a middle name

I like it alot:flower:

Much prefer it to Brianna.

Brionne is another name close to it that is nice.
