Hi can anyone help - Hubbys currently in the forces but is looking to get out, we havnt lived on Civi street and paid bills in 6 years, so looking for some rough figures please for a 3 bed house / family of 4 for the following

Gas -
Electric-
Food shop (weekly) -
Council Tax -
Phone bill -

It's very difficult to say without knowing the area you are thinking of but very roughly for east mids I would say:

Gas & electric (usually cheaper to get both from same supplier on direct debit approx £80 per month
Rent approx £450 -£550 per month depending on area. In not so nice areas it could be as low as £375.
Council tax band a approx £100 per month (10 monthly payments)
Phone depends what you go for. I think sky do tv, phone and broadband packages starting at about £25 per month.
Shopping I can get a week's worth for about £60 for2 adults & 2 dogs if I shop around and use Aldi for a lot of it but I'm a rubbish meal planner so bet with planning you could feed 4 and then some with that.

As I say it really depends where you're looking to live but gives a bit of an idea. Hope it helps x

it'll be the newcastle area.

thanks for ur help x

Depends on the city and the area hun.

I live in Birmingham and pay
Gas/Electric: £80 a month dual fuel
Council Tax: 126
Phone/BB/Sky: £30
Water: 28 (on a water meter)
Shopping: I do a huge monthly shop which is around £120 and then a top up shop as and when which is usually £15 a week but thats for two people only.
