Hi I wonder if anyone can help? I have been breastfeeding for a week now & am suffering with a permanent burning pain in both breasts. I breastfed my eldest child but don't remember being this sore. Babies latch seems to be ok although I'm suffering with sore cracked nipples. Is this burning pain normal & something that will disappear once breastfeedings established etc or does it sound like thrush or mastitis? I can't see any signs of thrush in babies mouth.

If its the nipple during a feed then it sounds like thrush

I was having a burning pain five mins after feeds for about two minutes and I think it was nipple blanching as it was during an over supply issue and has now totally stopped

There's some info on it...

If that doesn't sound like it then id say it was thrush... Bubs doesn't have to have signs all the time.

Hope u sort it out

Does sound like it could be thrush.

Can you describe the pain a bit more? Is there pain upon latching?

Have you or baby been on antibiotics?
