Burst stitches & infection

I went to the midwife today to be discharged (my boy is 10 days old) & it turns out my stitches have burst open & I have an infection

I knew it was sore down there, but I thought that was normal!

She sent me to the doctor for antibiotics, so I now have a 7 day course.

I looked in a mirror at the damage & it's not pretty, basically a big gaping open wound

Anyone else been in this situation?

It happened to me!

I dont heal very well so have some thick scars now but its way way better now. Mine was a right mess too, i cant see it very well but hubby says it looks fine now (my son is 20 months)

yep i had this too and the antibiotics helped loads.. still a bit sore and achey down there but not in the pain i was before and i think im healing nicely now.. imagine its quite common and mw told me i will heal on my own with no more intervention
