that's what i thought as well, but i found this, so who knows.
Some moms can feel their babies move as early as 13-16 weeks from the start of their last period. These first fetal movements are called quickening and are often described as flutters. It may be difficult to determine whether this feeling is gas or your babys movements, but soon you will begin to notice a pattern. First-time moms may not feel these movements as early as second-time moms. Some moms, especially those in their first pregnancy, may not feel movement until 18-20 weeks. Remember that each woman and each pregnancy is different, so you may not feel movement as early as another woman. There is a broad range of when the first detection of movement can be felt, ranging from 13-25 weeks.
I wasn't sure either.. But when I felt my first little kick I knew it was the baby. But there should be no pain if it is moving around. Reason why it's so hard to say if it's the baby is because it is still sooo tiny at 13 weeks!! You'd be suprised at how much it grows from 13 weeks to 20. It could have just been gas. But if you start to feel it more frequently say a couple times a day then it very well could be the baby!! Either way it's coming and it's exciting
