when can we buy baby stuff? I'm really over excited at the moment :dohh: I've chosen 300 names in the past 2 days, I need to calm down but I appear to be experiencing seriously raging hormones :headspin: maybe I'm over tired? Yes I'm exhausted I can't carry on like this or the men in white coats are going to drag me away.

:help:

300 names? Holy cow! I cannot find 300 names that I like.

You are going crazy :happydance:

Anyhow, I would wait until you are in your second trimester before buying.

I am anyhow. For some reason I am very scared about my pregnancy. Guess it was the stigma about how every year after 35 there is a risk.

I am also waiting to see what gender I will be having before purchasing anything.

I was desperate to shop too, but when it came down to it I didn't want to buy something and then change my mind.

 300 names!?! DH and I can only agree on 5 names total

It's normal to be this excited and really you can start buying when you want to but be careful of impulse buying as you may end up with way more of everything than you really need.

I'm lucky in this perspective. I shouldn't need to buy anything, i'm getting everything second hand from family. Which is kinda good, kinda bad. But im sure i'll still go buy some cute little outfits. I wanna know the gender now!

i'm planning on waiting until my second trimester before i begin buying stuff, but as soon as you want to buy stuff then there's nothing stopping you :)

Im 5 weeks and have bought some little sleep suits ! Im just so excited. Have hidden them tho coz OH will go mad with me !! lol.....

I started buying baby items perhaps around 30 weeks or so, pretty late but I started looking for names early on, only managed to find 6 or so that I truly liked. You're just super excited, that's normal hun, enjoy your pregnancy :)

Its normal to be excited hun, and although you can buy whenever you want to, most people and myself waited until the 2nd trimester before buying, alot of women wait until 24+ to get the pram and cot

I bought i few little outfits as soon as i found out i was pregnant and have been buying things ever since, i have loads of clothes, and have just started getting the bigger stuff together recently.

https://www.rookiemoms.com/shopping-registry/

Not a bad site for suggestions on what to buy for baby :)

I really want to buy stuff... but unfortunately ( or fortunately maybe ) I don't have to, as I still have stuff from my boys and I know 4 people who've had girls in the last 14 months, and they've all offered me everything. So I have no excuse to go out and spend :(

I started buying the irresistibly cute pieces even before TTC and then cooled off a bit until 12 weeks, but now I don't want to waste money buying for the wrong sex anymore, so I don't think I'll be doing any serious shopping until after 20weeks!

You're pregnant - you should do whatever makes you feel good and I wouldn't worry about buying things and something going wrong - I've got my baby box in the attic and it will be there until somebody needs it!

I love ebay and etsy for baby stuff. Ebay has a variety of things, and etsy has some nice nursing necklaces.

Are you looking for anything in particular? If you want organic stuff I know a few sites though I don't know if they ship to the UK.

I just couldn't help myself with buying baby stuff. I was probably about 12 wks along when I started. I had to stick to white, green, yellow, and brown stuff though. I couldn't help it! lol Those after holiday sales didn't help either. (OMg I got 6 bodysuits for $10!)

If anything happens, you can always keep the stuff. I'm not getting rid of my stuff. Noooo! lol

He he. There is a pile of baby stuff at my SO's place and even more stuff at mine!

:shipw: thank you all, i don't feel like such a freak now and I've calmed down a bit today (i think I'm having major hormone surges lol) as for names it's only me really so i can have what i like (Lilly Rose or Jude David at the moment) :headspin:

Okay so i did go and buy two little things :-= but hopefully i'll calm down now and re-frenzy next month (the sales are such a temptation cause i can get so much more for my money) one was in the sale and one was a brilliant little ladybird duffle coat from a charity shop un-used so i have behaved a bit :headspin:

the new baby shopping list is a good idea cause i haven't a clue what i actually need to by apart from a moses basket and baby grows!

In my first pregnancy I had a pregnancy journal that had a checklist of the essentials to buy for your newborn. I can't find the book.

But I did find another excellent list of essentials at this site:

I also mentioned this before, but what I did was buy the clothing one size up as newborn baby's outgrow their clothes super fast!
