Harvey was around 5 months old on his 1st Christmas and we got him a Jumperoo which was really well used. Other than that we didn't go mad, just got him things like books and clothes that he needed. His stocking was pretty much filled with things like socks, teething rings and spoons/bowls for weaning.
Lily was 5 nearly 6 months last christmas.. she got a jumperoo which she loved! A push along walker which she grew into... winnie the pooh shake rattle, rattles, teethers, my 1st christmas teddy, fisher price laugh and learn toys which are for 6m+.. I can't remember what else now!
This is quite a nice idea if there isnt much he needs, as it is something he could keep for years to come https://homeshopping.24studio.co.uk...ung-fun/baby-toddler/4/personalisedtoychest/5
fisher price bounce and giggle

Colin was 6 months on his first Christmas. We got him books, and some Fisher price 6 month + toys like the lights and spin raceway. Lots of rattles and some clothes he needed.
