Hi,

I have a breech baby on my hands or should I say in my uterus.. LOL. I am currently 37 weeks and my weeks turn over on Tuesday. Anyway, I am a bit frustrated because if I have a c-section (and it looks like I will) I would rather have a scheduled one. I hear you heal better when it is scheduled.

My doctor is trying to fit me into the c-section schedule and so far we haven't had any luck. SO every week I have been going to my appts asking if something opened up yet.

Anyway if it is scheduled. I have a question on how it goes. Do they break my waters or do they just open me up? So curious..

Thanks!

Hi if your having a section due to baby being breech it will be a planned one.
I had a planned section 9weeks ago due to my son being breech.

they dont break waters until they have opened you up.

Hi, how did it go for you? Are you healing OK? How long does it take? I am nervous. Any advice and details would be great!

Yeah the section itself was fine, i did loose more than average blood and was put on iron tabs. i felt really faint for hours after due to the amount of blood i lost and i was throwing up for 7hours after the section just felt really ill but i was up and out of bed that night. i had rough recovery, had an infection in my scar and took 2 lots of antibiotics to shift, had bowel probs, prolonged bleeding and nausea. but if just got on with it with 3 Lo's you dont have much choice lol.

i'm really not the person to ask about recovery the recovery ive had lol. but dont worry its different for everyone. if i was to have another child i wouldnt be so worried bout section it wasnt as bad as i expected honest. x

My scar still gets stingy sometimes and its tender at times but that normal. x

hey i had an emcs well partial emergency section due to pre eclampsia and it went okay
its basically like being at the dentist, you feel the pulling and tugging but no pain and your waters are not broken until they perform the section.
Healing was okay for me, the spinal was the worst part as it hurt going in but it was better than an epidural as it wore off very quick, within the hour after the section then I was given morphine but was intolerant to it so for the first 24hrs i was on oxycontin and it was fabulous and the next day I had a shower and my catheter removed which did not hurt one bit, it did not hurt going in and it did not hurt to pee either, on day five i had a bowel movement and was worried but it was fine and did not hurt. I just kept up the codeine and paracetamol from day two onward and just kept up with it, then on day four they removed the tape and it did feel like my belly was going to fall out but it did not hurt. My legs were sore due to having bad spd and i had a massive bulge bump above my incision but again that was spd related. so overall the recovery is not too bad, just take it easy when you get home and do not do any heavy lifting except your baby, and do not bend over or sit on the floor too much as trying to get up is sore. no part was terribly painful just very uncomfortable and sore but you will be surprised how fast you tend to bounce back :) the scar is also barely noticeable its like a scratch compared to my stretchmarks lol

Thanks! Did you have a hard time breast feeding with the pain reliever/drugs etc?
