I'm with a midwife for all my care even though I'm having a csection, so I saw the OB for a consult yesterday and he also booked my csection for June 24th! Nice to have a date set so I can plan for my other 3 kids and childcare.
Anyone else having a csection and have it booked yet?

Mines booked for the week of 6th June. In the uk we don't get an actual date until a few days before but it will be sometime that week. My 30th bday is 7th June 😬🙈 xxx

That's great! Love having a date...just out of curiosity (I've never had a c section) why do some women get c sections? Sorry totally naive on this topic!

Women get c-sections for a lot of different reasons. If the baby is in the wrong position, if there's a health condition with either mom or baby they may schedule a c-section a little bit early. Placenta Previa is another reason to get a c-section. Also if you have had a c-section in the past, most doctors will only allow you to do a c-section for all future births. The muscles weaken and it can become unsafe. However, lately, a lot of doctors are willing to allow women to try a vaginal birth after a c-section these days but I think the pregnancies have to be so far apart.
Also....let's face it....some women are control freaks and wan to know exactly when they will have their baby XD

I personally am trying to avoid a c-section at all costs, however, between problems with psoriasis and my placenta is currently very low, I might have to if that doesn't change.

Lots of different reasons really. You can't just choose to have one because you want one. I'm having one because I had emergency section with my daughter and therefore due to the small risk of uterine rupture and the situations surrounding my last delivery I am allowed one for future pregnancies.
You may need one if baby is breech, or very large, if you have medical reasons which indicate a need for one, or some women have them for psychological reasons (perhaps due to a previous traumatic birth for example).

Xx

For my personal journey, I had a vertical csection(they don't usually do these), with my 2nd baby due to her being breech...and because it's a super high risk of uterine rupture I'm not allowed to attempt a vaginal birth ever again:( makes me so sad but it's necessary and even my midwives have all said that a VBAC is not an option for me. Ever:(

Well now I'm a little more informed on the topic. Goof luck to all the ladies with c-sections booked!

How awesome to know the birthday already! I would love that, but I don't want to be induced and scared to be awake during a major surgery lol
I personally think you're super woman, major surgery and then having a newborn sounds scary!

Awe thanks! Truthfully It's more work with my other kids than with the newborn lol...juggling is the hard part. It is really nice to know the birth day, but I agree with you, I wouldn't choose a csection ever if I didn't have to! Yikes! Not fun and too many risks. Only if you absolutely have to

That's great you have a date and can get organised. I don't know what to do to for birth, I have a meeting with consultant to discuss it in April, so will hopefully be more clear after that. I had emergency c-section the last time because she was frank breech but no one noticed until her bum appeared instead of her head. It was a traumatic experience, I was so scared! This time i've been given the choice of another section or VBAC, there are risks with both and im so confused :( I'd love to give birth naturally but im so worried about having another emergency section if things don't go to plan, I was leaning towards a planned section because then at least the experience will be a lot calmer etc. Birth is just so unpredictable and no one can guarantee what's going to happen. It's a hard decision :(

I had one because the heartbeat disappeared during an NST so i was placed straight on the surgery table despite originally having been an excellent candidate for a natural birth.
Planning a VBAC this time.

I got my date yesterday I will be meeting my little boy on the 11th may I will be exactly 39 weeks. Also I'm getting sterilised at the same time, it's my 3rd child ( all boys)
Good luck to everyone having there babies this year xxx

I have a c-section booked for february 16th.

I'm having a c section but wont be able to book my date until my consultant appointment in May when i will be 36 weeks! When i had my first c section for breech they booked me in the week before.

Yeah I think that's when most hospitals book csections. My hospital has only one OR that is strictly for planned csections, so it gets booked WAY in advance. If it's an emergency section than it will be in a different OR, which I don't want because then they seperate mom and baby for a while. It's just how this particular hospital does things. So I'm hoping I don't go earlier than June 24th!

I've got to go back at 36 weeks to "confirm method of delivery" and set a date. After a traumatic labour with my daughter, I've been recommended to have a section by the registrar who delivered my daughter, a physio and a counsellor. So waiting until beginning of June for that appt

Me me!!! Booked between May 24-26 at the latest! Can't wait to get the show on the road!!
