Sooo nervous my section has been brought forward due to baby's size and I'm so worried about it.
Iv had a previous emergency and a previous planned but I'm still ridiculously nervous about the surgery.
I have a high bmi which makes my fears worse and i just need some words of comfort  xx

:hugs: I'm so sorry you are feeling so nervous. It is totally normal to feel nervous before such a big day. Just try to remember what's on the other side of the surgery, your baby :flower: I just had to keep reminding myself of that.
My second section was even better and calmer than the first (they were both planned) and recovery was much faster as well! I hope since this is your second planned(third total) it will go even smoother :)
Tell your Drs about the nerves...my anesthesiologist offered some anti anxiety medication, although I didn't end up needing it. I just told everyone how nervous I was and the nurses and Drs were so sweet and kind to me.
:hugs: to you! I hope you have a calm and lovely delivery day and you and baby are perfect and healthy :flower:

Thank you so much those words certainly do help a lot xxxx

I'm going in for my 3rd c section Monday and am extremely nervous as well. I think it's kind of normal to be anxious, it's major surgery! However, like kalabear said, you get to meet your baby! Keep your eye on the prize mama! My dr did say she'd write me a prescription for Ativan in case I'm super anxious the night before and I could also get something the day of if I feel the need. I think I'll fill the prescription just in case and hopefully not take it.

Just read the date, have you had your baby yet? When do you go? Good luck!

I go today so hopefully I can update very soon with lots of happy smiles!!!
Just thinking right this is it let's do this and get the surgery over with!!! Xx

How are you bundle?

How did surgery go? Hope you are enjoying lots of newborn snuggles :)

Hi. It went really well the surgery.
I was extremely nervous on the day but tried to stay as calm as possible, the spinal went in first attempt, my heart rate went up quite high due to me being anxious but it soon slowed down.
The op itself was very calm and the surgeons and midwives were lovely and very reassuring.
Iv been home since Wednesday and everyone is in love with our new baby girl :cloud9:

Just been told I need a section today in 2 weeks super anxious I have a naughty breech baby failed turn today :-(

It's not so bad hayley although I'm finding keeping my wound dry due to my over hang :-(

A sanitary towel stuck on the inside of your knickers where the wound is. I did this with mine, it kept it clean and dry and was great for a bit of cushioning when holding the wound, to move or cough. Xx

I agree with PP I used a pad placed on my scar held by my nickers which really helped :) glad all went okay hun it is scary as other ladies said its a big surgical procedure, I'm really nervous about mine, with my 1st I was induced and due to complications I was rushed down so was a last minute decision, but now it's planned its scared me even more as now I know what to expect lol just going to try and stay calm :) how long do you have to stay in? Another thing that scares me with zac my oldest I had a serious womb infection and was kept in for a week I really hope that don't happen again I really want to be in/out and settled :) xxx

I'm still very nervous what day do u start to feel better?

I'm starting to feel like myself after a week but I'm still having really sore days.

Cherrished it's 24hrs u can go home after a planned section. Tbh the planned is so much more relaxed and no panic.
I'm scared the pad moves into the wound and opens it more cos it's already opened a little.

Hayley, looking back on mine it was a great experience. The hospital was great at keeping me pain free. I didn't walk until 2 days after I don't think, which is late only because I didn't think to get out of bed and they didn't push me! This time I'm going to try the following morning (my consultant ops on a Monday evening). Do take all of you pain meds as it's important to keep on top of the pain. going up and donw stairs when I got home wasnt fun though. I did 5 days in bed when I got home, getting up once an hour to walk around. To be honest though my core felt very weak for a very long time (a year and a half?) so I would say that if you can to make sure you work that out when you're cleared to do so. I had a baby with silent reflux so it wasn't high on my priority list and I was exhausted! Am aiming to push myself more physically once this next one is done and to try to get back into shape. Good luck hun, positive mental attitude makes a massive difference I think and having a lot of support round you while you heal xx

Hi Hayley again! I was in for 4 days as baby needed monitoring but in hindsight this was good as I did not need to go upstairs like in my house and it forced to rest. 2 weeks on and I'm amazed how quickly I have been recovering! Make sure you keep in top of your pain relief and take things slowly but do get out of bed when you can and do little things x

Hayley, are you in Oxford? I had my first section at the JR, and actually work there.
They're a lovely team :) x

Best hospital around Yh we got discharged yesterday x
