We are expecting babies #3 and #4. This is my 3rd pregnancy. With my first son I had a vaginal birth and ended up with a stage 4 episiotomy because he started having big decels as I was pushing. Three pushes and he was out. He was only 6lbs 15oz, but his head started off big. The pain from the episiotomy was HORRIBLE:sad2: It hurt to move in any way, hurt when I sat, hurt when I stood up. I had to have my hubby help me sit, stand, go to the bathroom, etc for a good 6 weeks. However, with my 2nd his delivery was a breeze and I felt amazing immediately after he was born:happydance: When I think about delivering this time all I can think about is the delivery with my first. I still have skin and scar tissue that I'm going to need surgery to fix after we're done having kids. The scarring and extra skin causes pain during intercourse and when I wipe(TMI sorry). There's a good chance, even with twins, I can deliver vaginally, especially with how they're positioned. My high risk OB said he has no problem delivering vaginally, even if baby B is breach. He's supportive either way though. My older 2 will be 3.5 and 4.5 yrs old when the babies are born, so they won't need to be picked up.

Are you glad you had elective c-sections? Was it difficult with having other kids while recovering? I'm just so torn. Thankfully I'm only 11+2, although my youngest always measured small and I think I'm further along(topic for another night) so I have some time to figure it out. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated!

I had an emergency section and am kinda glad i did that rather than have a natural birth and a 3rd or 4th degree tear but then Im a wimp.

I guess if you've delivered naturally why not go again but then as its twins and one is breech id prob take the section. Scar is there anyway so no difference either way

I have three kids, had a long bac k to back labour with dd1 i got cut.
another long back to back labour and big baby with dd2.
and ds was breech so i had an elective section and he was also bigger baby.

In my experience a vaginal birth is a piece of p*ss compaired to a section and recovery. the section itself was fine but ive had problem after problem after my section. my recovery has been long and hard i have my 2nd section scar infection and it aint no picnic looking after 3 Lo's whilst having so many complecations following a section. plus it is major surgery.

if i had anymore i would opt for a section though safer when you already had one.

I had an emcs and due to complications during the surgery, I can not have a vbac. I would give anything to have a vaginal birth. The cs recovery was AWFUL and I'm dreading having to go through that again... and this time with a toddler.
