i had a c section 2 years ago because my dd was breech. i was very upset at first, but i had a good experience, everything healed well, etc.

My doctor told me I can go either way with this baby. She is completely ok with vbac if i do not get induced. i am leaning towards having another c section because of my past experience and also some of my friends who had babies at different hospitals we told that vbacs are not the way to go. i am just not very comfortable doing something that could potentially cause complications.

any advice for me? should i ask for another c section?

I'm in the same boat. I just had my baby via EMCS which I was devastated about.

But second time round I'm so worried of complications I don't know whether just to opt for a second C-Section as I'll be scared either way!

I think it's completely down to personal preference and the reasons for your section before. If baby was breech and that was the thing meaning you had to have a section and next baby is head down I'd probably go for vbac.

I had an emcs due to non progressive labour and a big baby which was back to back. As growth scans aren't common and I've been told I won't be offered one on the NHS next time (despite LO being over 10lb), they've just said they'll test me for diabetes - which I not think I had, I just think I produce big babies.

I had been thinking about trying for vbac but mainly due to my non progressive labour (I went from8cm to 6cm and was in labour for three days) I don't want to risk that again so I'm going to opt for a section. But if my emcs was "just" for back to back big baby I'd opt for a vbac.

I'd like to experience a vaginal birth but with my progression issues I don't think it's worth it for me.

Hope that made sense!

If I had a chance to have a VBAC I would do it in a heartbeat.

I think there is a lot of scaremongering when it comes to VBACs. There are way more risks having a CS than having a VBAC (as long as you haven't had any complications that rules you out for a VBAC). I would give anything to have a VBAC. But due to my uterus ripping up both sides in my EMCS, I'm not a candidate for a VBAC.

I had a c section almost a year ago, and I'm due in June. My consultant is happy for me to try for a vbac as long as everything is ok with baby. I had a c section at 34 weeks last year due to iugr and a failing placenta, as well as a transverse breech baby. They have said the risk of uterine rupture is tiny, and gets less the longer after the c section it is. I always wanted a water birth. Because of my c section, I'm not allowed, but they're happy for me to labour in water with intermittent monitoring, so I don't have to be strapped to a bed on a monitor. Really hope this baby is in the right position for a vbac! I was also told that after 2 sections, they wouldn't recommend trying a vbac, and I want more children and want to experience labour and childbirth as I feel I missed out and failed my son a little by not being able to give birth to him naturally. x

I had a vbac second time around and never any question about it, same with this time. Normal birth. If you have no complications go natural.

I had an EMCS august 2011 and i am having an ELCS next month. This will be our last baby for at least 5 years so i may try for a vbac next time xx

I had a brilliant EMCS, and a brilliant VBAC after. Been briliant to experiene both, so glad I did it.
