Hi,

I had a emergency c section with my first failure to progress I'm really thinking about having a elective c section with my second I had a really bad induction with my first don't want to go through that again...could I ask for one? Also when you have your second section are you cut in the same place?

I had a emergency csection with my DD due to failure to progress after a 36 hour labour and the fact she was getting distressed. I have requested an elective csection this time as I do not want to go through another labour to be told 'actually you need another emergency csection'. Discussed this with the consultant who ran over the pros and cons but overall was happy to go with my decision. It's your decision :)

Yes you can request one, I had my second in Jan this year after an emergency last time. They cut in the same place and my scar looks the same - my belly is probably a bit saggier though!
