My OH and I are going to pick her LO up in just under 2 weeks, from Catterick, which is about a 5 hour drive each way. We were debating staying somewhere overnight to break the drive up.
We're pretty skint atm, so hotels are a bit out of our budget, but we thought camping would be fun. Ca anyone recommend anywhere, that would be nice (and relatively cheap)to stay along the way? Will be just two adults, so doesn't have to be particularly family friendly.
Thanks in advance :)

There are two campsites we have stayed at not too far from Catterick. One is Woodhouse Farm near Ripon. It was very nice, woodlands to walk around, play area & on site pub. It was £130 for 4 nights with electric & supplement for large tent.

The other one was The Hideaway @ Baxby Manor, just south of Thirsk. Really nice site, large grassy areas for the kids to play (no actual playground). Each plot has their own fire pit which you can buy logs to go on (or bring your own) & you can hire a tripod BBQ to go over the fire (£5 to hire). This was £60ish for two nights with electric.
