Hi all,
I recently have got on the birth control patch (ortho evra). This is my first time being on birth control, and have been on it for the past 3 weeks. Lately, I have been feeling SO tired and run down and unable to get restful sleep. I'm wondering if anyone who's been on hormonal BC has had any similar symptoms or knows anything about it?

Thanks!
xx

I haven't personally- BUT- different BC can affect woman very different. If you feel it's related- it can't hurt to ask your OB. I will say it can take up to 90days (so about 3 cycles) for your body to fully adjust to whatever BC your taking- generally speaking.

With that said- I had to switch after LO was born as my former BC was discontinued- and the first one they tried was horrid. I got awful period and cramps and hormonal through the roof! No fun. So I immediately called my OB and asked to switch to something more similar to my former BC... and it's been fantastic!

BTW- the patch does get more of the hormones into your system (since it bypasses your digestive track)- so that could be what is causing you to be tired. It might just be "too much" for you- if there is a lower dose version you might try that one.

Hope you get it sorted out soon!

Thanks! I just came down with a bad cold, so I'm wondering if that had anything to do with me being tired!
