I was planning for a VBAC all the way along after I had a very bad experince with an emergency c-section with my first child after his heart beat kept dipping and the whole emcs was very upseting for me. Im now 38 weeks with my second baby and in the last month I have been having contactions that started getting stronger and now are painfull. After going into hospital quiet a few times they have told me I now have and irritable uterus  I have changed my mind after thinking about this the last few weeks and now want a elc-section. Can i change my mind? im soo worried about the baby now to mention in pain im in and have been told that there is a higher chance of my uterus getting tired during labour and ending up with an emergency c-section anyway or possible uterus rupture. I would be greatfull if anyone could tell me of there experince please. I am booked in to see my consultant.

I don't see why you couldn't change your mind.It is your body and your birth. Have your Dr schedule it at your next visit. :hugs:

I would think you would be able to change your mind. At my last OB appointment, I was told bubs could be 4kg. I asked how late I could change my mind and have an ELCS. He said anytime but said to give VBAC a try (I ended up with another EMCS). If anything, it might just depend on your OB and time slots left available to do an ELCS and if it could be done in time. If not, i would assume they would just do It as an EMCS. Good luck. Xx

Ofcoarse you can change your mind. No one can.force you into anything. Can I just say I started having doubts around your stage as well. Started thinking if I had elcs I could have him soon and everything would be planned out. I started worrying about the pain and the what ifs. I worried that if the worst should happen then I could leave my children motherless. But then I thought about how much I have wanted a vbac since tristan was born 2 1/2 years ago. For me I thought is forever regret not trying. So I had a successful vbac 24/5/13. Sebastian was 9lb 2 but I pushed him out myself and only used gas and air in a short labour (4cm-10cm in two hours!).

Whatever choice you make good luck. Everyone is different but wanted to let you know I had doubts but I managed it. Hope whatever choice you make you get s lovely birth experience. X

I changed my mind on the morning of my induction. The midwife told me to pop onto the bed and she would break my waters and I was like, um no thank you. I had always been iffy about being induced but on the morning my gut told me not to do it. Turns out baby was 10lb 8oz and the midwife said I never would have delivered him naturally. There was no problem at all for me to change my mind, the got me ready and took me straight to theatre.

you can change your mind at any time even if you go into labour all you got to do is tell them you want a section and don't want to continue with the labour

Yes, I changed my mind at my 39 week apt with the consultant.
