First time using these cheapie OPK. So I can see a faint second line. O is technically not due for another 4 days.....
Anyone else use these home POAS tests? Are positive tests accurate? I know that they often show negative results, when the result is positive....but is it also vice versa?
And from what I know, it's not positive until the two lines are the same shade...is that correct?

With my shift work, hubby and I won't really see eachother until Saturday

So, should I wait until saturday and test again........is it better to BD if the lines are darker?

Urgh....this is head spinning :headspin:

No idea but wanted to say good luck, best to ask wobbles, suz or AG hun

xxx

The lighter line needs to be same darkness as the other line or darker. That will mean Ovulation is due in teh next 24-36 hours.
At 4 days untill Ovulation, your test looks about right.

I can see another line, but you should test again, just be sure

As said above you should test again to see the lines getting darker. Keep testing each day untill you get a positive if you have enough.

Many women get a faint 2nd line even when O is a while away because progesterone is always in our system, to get a 2nd dark lines means that there is a level of progesterone that has peaked - meaning O is near.

Unlike HPT's where a 2nd faint line is a positive because we don't normally have HCG in our bodies - only when we're pregnant.

Thanks guy, ya'll made things much clearer :hugs:
I have heaps, so I will test daily....

you're near to Ovulation, the light line needs to be about the same darkness or darker than the test line - sometimes the tests are a bit dodgy though and don't go as dark as the test line but they get close to it, if you know what i mean

no idea hun but theres defo a line,so bd as much as you can, no harm done.
xx

There are many, if not most, OPK tests that ALWAYS are supposed to have two lines. No matter when you take them, two lines are SUPPOSED to show up. The real indicator of ovulation is when the second line is as dark or darker than the control line. So, it's not at all surprising that you have two lines...they're both supposed to be there. It looks like you've got a few days, yet, before you ovulate. So get off this site and get started with your BDing!!!
:)

i got really worried the first month i used the cheapies as i didnt even have a 2nd line but as i got closer and closer to ovulation the line appeared and became darker each day so this looks like you are going to ovulate in a few days (could be 2 could be 4 etc) but its definately not a positive OPK at the moment so DONT panic that your not seeing DH until sat, it looks like a positive is a few days away yet so plenty time for BD!

Good Luck for this month! :hugs:

the lutenising hormone is always present in your urine but peaks just before ovulation the test is not positive until the test line is the same colour or darker than the control line

Thanks guys...It hasn't changed much in yesterdays test....Does the dark line come on all of a sudden? or is it more of a gradual thing?

it happened all of a sudden with me i started using them a few days before i thought i might ovulate the second line was always present but then one day it was really dark. you need to make sure you dont use first morning urine they advise against this, they say the best time is around 12pm till 2pm
