I started spotting 2 days (or maybe 4) past ovulation and today is my 5th day of spotting. I want to believe that its implantation bleeding (some say that's not real tho).
My question is, could it be a light period or is 2dpo too soon to start a new cycle? I suppose it could also be a hormonal imbalance.... Any information/insight?

I dont think it would be either necessarily. Some women do and some dont have implantation bleeding. I did an IUI cycle when i got pregnant and noticed nothing out of the ordinary , for example. However it also wouldn't be that soon n or that long, but it also doesn't sound like a period. If your cycle is totally out of whack it absolutely could be the start of a new cycle. I'd give it a bit and see what happens, sometimes these things just happen. It could be nothing, a BFP, or the start of a problem, but no need to jump the gun with either concern or worry just yet :)

I had spotting on and off for 5 days last cycle from about 2-3dpo, I wasn't preg, I really don't know why it happened, but if it happens again this month I will be going to the doctors. If you are worried then you should consult your doctor xx

Mumof5, did you start a new cycle when expected?

No I was later than usual, I normally have a 26 day cycle, occassionally a 28 day, but this one was 29 day, almost 30 as it was pretty late in the day x

Just an update:
Today is 8dpo (possibly 10) and I still have spotting. That makes for 7 days of spotting so far. Whereas it was pink the previous days, today its brown. I'm wondering if it was a light period.

Anyway, I took a test this AM, negative. Have an appointment with OBGYN in 3 days for annual exam. I think I'll ask for a blood pregnancy test.

I have, 3/4 dpo u may have luteal phase deficiency

Just want to update. I was pregnant the cycle I posted this, but it ended in an early m/c (before the completion of the 4th week).
I believe it happened because the baby implanted so early (2 - 4 dpo). The light spotting turned into a full blown period.
So, YES you can have implantation bleeding really early, but for me it wasn't a good sign nor did it have a good outcome.
I'm still not pregnant. Haven't been trying except for this current cycle, but I think AF will be here in 2 days, ugh.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hope you get pregnant again soon
